Carrying the Flag
The Explorers Club flag symbolizes a rich legacy of courage and triumph, unfurled on countless expeditions by the Clubs members since 1918. It is an honor to bear this flag, which has graced both polar regions, soared atop the world’s highest peaks, plumbed the ocean’s depths, and visited the lunar landscape. Any expedition under the Clubs flag must advance the cause of exploration and scientific fieldwork. Presently, there are 202 numbered flags, each with its own storied past.
Club members who are planning a scientific expedition are encouraged to apply for carrying the flag. Instructions and applications are available to members only.
